Estrace is a medication that contains the hormone estradiol. Estrogen therapy can be necessary during fertility treatments in order to thicken the lining of the uterus and maintain an ideal environment for an embryo at the time of transfer. It can also be used to synchronize follicle development in preparation for IVF. You may be asked to take Estrace as an oral medication or asked to insert it vaginally. If unsure, ask your doctor.
