Estrogen replacement can be necessary during fertility treatments in order to thicken the lining of the uterus and maintain an ideal environment for an embryo at the time of transfer.It can also be used to synchronize follicle development in preparation for IVF. Vivelle-Dot is one of many ways to manipulate estrogen levels during treatment and may not be the only estrogen replacement drug in your protocol.
